Why waxed linen thread? Waxed linen thread is traditional, strong and looks good. A fine layer of wax is applied to help hold the twisted strands together, preventing fraying and reduces friction when drawing two threads past each other in a saddle stitch. Waxed linen thread is also rot resistant. Some feel that the wax solidifies inside the leather after a while, permanently locking each stitch in place. However a proper saddle stitch will lock into place on its own. Thank you @threads.of.meisi for the wonderful note. This is my first batch of meisi super fine linen thread, had always been using meisi linen thread for my projects. Love the thread smoothness and the tension feeling when doing casting saddle stitching. Now is time to work with their super fine series.
